Two new Doc in Abruzzo and one Docg in Marche

For the Region of Abruzzo the National Wine Commitee has been given a positive opinion for approval of the Doc "Villamagna" whose base is set on the vine "Montepulciano", and for the Doc "Ortona" consisting of the categories "white" and "red". The production areas of both Doc falls in the province of Chieti.

The National Wine Committee, which met the 20 and 21 January, has successfully resolved as many as 13 requests for awards and amendments to specifications of DOCG, DOC and IGT wines from various Italian regions. For the Region of Abruzzo it has been given a positive opinion for approval of the Doc "Villamagna" ampelographic whose base is set on the vine "Montepulciano", and for the Doc "Ortona" consisting of the categories "white" and "red". The production areas of both Doc falls in the province of Chieti. For the Marche Region it gave favorable opinion of the recognition DOCG Doc "Offida. Thus the the Doc "Offida" has now been changed in "Terre di Offida". It finally gave an opinion in favor of amending the specification for the DOC "Colli Maceratesi" , its main type of integration is based on integration monovarietale "Sangiovese". For the region of Calabria it valuaed positively the proposal to adapt the specification for the DOC Bivongi which provided for the correct indication of the variety of synonyms Gaglioppo ampelographic that is included in the category of "red" wine of the aforementioned Doc "Bivongi. The next meeting will be held the 22 and 23 February 2011.
