“These days more than three thousand men of the State Forestry Corps are working throughout the whole national territory to help with the damages caused by the bad weather conditions in our country. The State Forestry Corps has my support and appreciation for the fundamental role that they carry out in the most isolated zones helping the return the normal life for all the citizens.” This declared the Minister for agricultural food and forestry policies Mario Catania, highlighting the importance of the action carried out by the State Forestry Corps, adressing  the current difficult situation faced in the different Italian Regionsas result of bad weather conditions.

The State Forestry Corps guaranteed their help in the crisis units activated in diverse areas of our country and put at disposal highly qualified men and technique, who are working non stop in giving basic and health assistance. In the most damaged areas such as Emilia Romagna, Marche, Abruzzi and Lazio, at this moment there is the use of snow mobiles while more units have been sent by the Regional Commands of the State Forestry Corps of Veneto, Liguria, Tuscany and will be operative from today.

Some helicopters of the Operative Air Center of State Forestry Corps of Rome, Pescara, Cecina and Rieti, moreover, intervened to assist and perminit the transport of people, materials and furniture and to provide food to animals in the isolated zones. The staff of the State Forestry Corps have carried out an important activity of control and protection on in the main street arteries. They assisted the car drivers in difficulty and helped the population of rural areas, transporting sanitary staff and sick people to the hospitals, they also provided assistance in stocking essentials such as petrol, urgent medicines and food.
